“There are no idle thoughts. All thinking produces form at some level” Helen Schucman.
Never underestimate the POWER of a thought! All it takes is one... good or bad to completely RULE YOUR LIFE! Don’t believe me? Listen! I learned to live a life from the inside out. Outwardly I was a fun, bubbly, goofy girl. I talked but I was not the best communicator. So whenever real, hard life issues approached me I dealt with them from the inside out. I was the “I’m good” type person because putting my thoughts into words were very scary! I play out reactions, feeling, and even dialogue IN MY MIND! This became my daily workshop. I thought a situation all the way to the end without actually talking it out. That meant if my feeling were hurt and I THOUGHT someone didn’t like me, that was the conclusion and final answer. My mind was a dangerous place for me!
My thoughts made me become very angry, offended, unforgiving (and the list goes on) person. I was a walking ticking time bomb on the verge of exploding and no one would even know. This became a horrible habit that grew and grew; which caused me to my life piece by piece through my mind. It ruined important relationships and ultimately MYSELF.
Often, we don’t realize the effect our thoughts have on us; But it is not a game! The way you think is the way you perceive life. Our perception of life is a pretty good reflection of how we view ourselves. For me, it became a place that I gave the enemy access to live. EVERYTHING IS NOT THE DEVIL…. SOME STUFF IS A CHOICE.
We have a choice to think positively or negatively. We make the choice to live in our heads and for me that was my choice. Now I’m not saying that life does not deal us a bad hand because sometimes it can and does. HOWEVER, with Jesus and the Holy spirit, we are taught how to deal with life’s woes. But do we honestly want to be taught? Or would we rather throw a pity party because we feel entitled to something?
There are instructions that God left us in his word to help us shut down the workshop in our minds:
Philippians 4:8 says; And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
This is simple but a lot of times it is easier said than done. You must make your mind do this because most times our thoughts are not true (even though believe so), right, honorable, pure, lovely, nor admirable. This even goes for how we think of ourselves! When you fix something, you make whatever is wrong, right! God wants to completely transform our mind and fix our thought, if we let him. So, lets get to it
