Everybody at you cause everybody want you...But why?

I posted a poem on Facebook titled The Spider and the Fly by Mary Howitt. It was published in 1829 but so relevant today.

I love people! I love to be around different people, learn about different cultures, and their way of life. I think it helps me relate better and most of all its fun! I LOVE everything about it.

Until, life threw me a series of situations that made me think otherwise!I became extremely paranoid, suspicious, and anxious around people, including my family! Now, you are probably wondering why and how I became like this; but the answer is simple I was a discern-LESS, stubborn, hard head, and naïve girl!

Funny enough, I knew I was different from a young girl. My parent wouldn’t let me go everywhere, be with everybody, or do everything! They were extremely over-protective of me. Not just them though; my ENTIRE family. They were 007 when it came down to me and still are. I know why now( very grateful) but I didn’t then. I would be angry by this! I wanted to just LIVE. And I did but in living I paid a heavy cost.

I loved to give people the benefit of the doubt. I did not agree with the saying “when someone shows you who they are, believe them”, uh No that wasn’t fair too me; And because of this mindset I had to endure some great hurt. OH! My goodness, the choices we make sometimes are just STUPID if we are being honest.

But my red-letter day came in the form of a poem, it put everything in perspective! The poem in a nut shell was about a fly that was constantly pursue by what APPEARED to be good but was really her death sentence in the end because she wasn't aware of the enemy present in front of her.

Who was the fly? ME!

I had been pursued by things and people my whole life but the difference about this last time was… it was NEW and VERY FLATTERING! It was unlike anything I had ever experienced and it even had some stuff I did experience.

SIDEBAR: it was one of those situations where your mom told you something and it sounded like blah, blah , blah but when a when a cool peer or adult said it, you had a WOW moment!

Anyways, let me stay focused! It was patient. It observed and learned who I was very well. This skilled opponent knew some of my deepest desires, weakness, strength, and when the time came it presented me with an offer I seemingly couldn’t resist. I was FLATTERED! It seemed good but wasn’t right! Every thing I was built on said GET OUT, however, I was already neck deep in and the moment I showed signs of escaping, things quickly changed and led me to a point that only God could save me from. And he did!

I said all of that to say this, being set apart by God is nothing to casually adhere to because the devil doesn’t play fair! HE PLAY FOR KEEPS!

Read 2 Corinthians 6:17 (Message Bible) So, leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good,” says God. “Don’t link up with those who will pollute you. I want you all for myself. I’ll be a Father to you; you’ll be sons and daughters to me.”

We as believers are NOT called to be separate and equal! There is nothing about us that is equal to the world. And I learned that knowing God and the word for myself is what draw the line; it's how you know what is GOD and what's NOT! Now, I’m not saying isolate yourself to avoid experiencing some conflict with people because you will ( Jesus had Judas in his INNER circle handling his MONEY, come on you not special like that) but when GOD SAYS NO, it’s a NO. and that means not even a little because he knows the result and it’s not our job to try to fix or figure it out. We must believe the same things, serve the same God, and be pushing HIS agenda... and if not then we can't kick it, SIMPLE!

How can light and darkness dwell together? You tell me...i'll wait...IT CAN'T!

OH! Don’t forget that the devil knows what’s on the inside of you even when you don’t; and it’s his job to kill, steal, and destroy it at all cost. PLEASE, allow wisdom and discernment to be your friend, embrace protection and wise counsel, and KNOW God for yourself.

Purpose and destiny must be fulfilled just in case you wondered why everybody at you but God won’t let them get you!
