The Oasis of Life

Life’s up and downs are not determined by the moral good you do but it always a part of your journey in life to build character.

OASIS! That dry patch you hit when nothing or no one is acting right. When day after day you experience hardship. When EVERYTHING is due but money is nowhere to be found. This describes my week in a nutshell. Come on, don’t be shocked y’all know I keep it 100! But the beauty about an oasis is right when you least expect it; BOOM! Water appears and your dry place turns quickly into a moist, fertile place where things can begin to LIVE again. I don’t care if an area has been dry for a thousand years, when that water springs up; EVERYTHING CHANGES. That’s why the Lord places the word in our lives. He knows what situation will make us GROW!

Now oftentimes we are excited about when our oasis, harvest, blessing, or come up but the lesson I learned is that is the time you work the HARDEST. You must work hard to keep what you have!

NO CRACKS LEFT OPEN!

How you take care of what you get; determines if you can handle more. One scripture I grew up hearing was the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Meaning WHAT? God knew we would become lazy at times, become complacent, and mishandle the process that we miss out on so much! I had to realize that some of my dry times were set in place by God to teach me something and others were because I did not steward well and the devil had access to steal, kill, and destroy my stuff! Which put me back at square ONE!

Preparation is key to anything successful! What you prepare for is what you will most likely key; believe it or not! Not only preparation but finding out what is required to KEEP IT.

True Story: my parents gave my first car. I was so excited that I didn’t have to pay anything but insurance. However, I thought not paying was a good idea just so I can have money in my pocket; I refused to be BROKE. Same day it lapsed was the same day I had a car wreck and who was at fault…ME! All because I refuse to follow the requirements and THIS my friend caused me to lose what I was given! (I learned this lesson a lot) There is no such thing as shortcuts. Like I said before, if you can’t take care of a little, how can you manage a lot?

So, if you are yet awaiting your OASIS; do something while you wait……PREPARE, get somethings in order so when the water springs up you will know it and be able to do the necessary things to keep it.
