God's Process vs. Your Convenience

Its easy to do something with no strings attached! Its easy to ask for something when you don’t have to do the dirty work to get it! It’s EASY! When you are not vested in something or someone to completely detach and center it around what’s convenient for you!

But its HARD when it's your stuff, your decision, your lively hood on the line. That’s when we run to God and scream LORD, GIVE ME A MIRACLE, or LORD, IF YOU DO IT THIS TIME; I will (fill in the blank).

We are conditioned to avoid PROCESS! And that’s funny because there is a process for everything. We are the 30 second or less generation; everything gotta be quick, require limited work and involvement, and it better produces the best result. Why? Because I’m entitled to it.

Unfortunately, that ‘s not how it works. In every area of our life; whether natural, spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical we have and will go through a process!

I noticed this in the biggest, lifetime commitment i've ever made: My relationship with Jesus Christ! It was cool in the beginning; I was in love, it was new, and to be completely honest my first time I was not all the way vested, devoted, and commit to my relationship or the journey ahead. It was just convenient because living a worldly life wasn’t giving me good result, my parents were happy and quiet, and it didn’t require anything (so I thought).

Oh and honey, It got real when he started asking me to give up stuff I liked but he didn’t, change how I thought and treated people, and I realized I had to make choices and stick with them ( You can't be two-faced in christ). NO MA’AM, NO SIR, those things were not convenient for me and I did not see the benefits of letting those things go at first! However, God knows that, and he knows during the process we won’t get it right all the time; Thank you Jesus for Grace. Even then his standards, requirements, and word changes: No, it’s remains. But everyday you should make it a priority to grow and mature in him! That’s process! But let’s not forget that with process comes discipline and with discipline come consistency! And that my friend is not easy but its possible! You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you, that’s what Philippians 4:13 says, and that’s true; just make sure what you do goes THROUGH Christ. That’s what we forget, Christ must be the center of everything we do and when we try to avoid that for convenience sake; we lose time and still must go through the process!

One of my favorite scripture Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster to give you hope and a future”. The beauty of this verse is that it lets us know WHO has the plan! GREAT but it also reminded me that some plans take you through a process! God’s process! And if we follow through there is a blessing at the end!

Yeah, God can give us a miracle and do any and everything instantly without breaking a sweat, but what would that teach us? How would we grow?
