Gracefully- in an attractive elegant way
Broken- violently separated…
Seasons- a time characterized by a circumstance or feature
Three words we know very well. We have heard them stated in the most beautiful times; then sometimes they show up at the worst of times. But what happens when God tells you that your season in called GRACEFULLY BROKEN! No one I know ever runs into this season with open arms or signs up to stay in this season for a long time. However, its right when being violently separated from things, mindsets, ideals, and the comfort zones that you realize you are right on the brink of the greatest season that will change your life forever!
Most of our brokenness, if we were to be honest with ourselves; can be traced to moments of great transition. Things tend to be seemingly falling apart, becoming chaotic, or pushing off the greatest resistance when seasons are about to change. Look at the weather, one day it’s hot, next it’s real cool, and then hot all over again. LIKE FOR REAL, WILL THINGS EVER SMOOTH OUT? Then, BOOM IT DOES!!! However, sometimes we get caught up in the “what’s leaving” that we miss what’s coming!
It’s not always about the brokenness, but how graceful God is to us while doing it and what’s on the other side of it. You see, I’ve learned that even though I’m being broken, I’ve never been abandoned or left to put myself back together. What blows my mind is that God makes that the least of my worries. Sometimes we will never even notice the change that’s happening within us because we are over consumed with the breaking. Romans 8:28 says, all things work together for the good of those that love the Lord and are called according to his purpose. God sometimes breaks us because everything from past seasons must go so we can occupy our new.
It’s at the time of contractions that a new mother realizes that if she endures a little while longer, she will birth a child that makes it all worth it. It’s in the bowels of depression when you can’t see the light; that one moment of exhale can be the door that frees you from the inside out!
Isaiah 64:8; Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
I know that being gracefully broken sounds like the most amazing nightmare ever, but that’s often what we experience in this season. He breaks us down in just about every area and puts us back together with a clear distinction that He has done a new thing and that we are fully prepared and even AWARE that we are in our new.
Don’t despise this season. There are numerous reasons why God may have placed you there…. only He knows, but whatever it is, take the time to be MADE in his IMAGE. Even if that means you must be broken in the process. In the end, you will be gracefully crafted with distinction of a NEW, awaiting your next season!
God never leaves the graceful….broken
